"Trying to be sea" explores longing, memory, and a sense of home through the element of water. Growing up by the sea in Portugal and now living far from it, I translate this connection into symbolic imagery in Trier, using light, wind, fabric, and water fragments to evoke movement and presence. The series reflects a personal search for belonging and self, capturing hands shaping waves, fabrics flowing like liquid memory, and layered photographs where sea and dream meet. Presented as an installation in transparent sleeves, the work creates a quiet, poetic space between past and present, near and far, expressing both fragility and strength.
