Momentary blue
Inspired by two personal images, a wave just before it breaks and a childhood memory of watching a washing machine in complete absorption, the work reflects on presence as a fleeting yet immersive state. Time is understood as a continuous flow, and meditation not as a practice to depict, but as a condition that can emerge within ordinary moments. Through large cyanotype prints of water structures on suspended fabrics, the installation forms a walkable “moment” that visitors can enter and leave freely. Translucent textiles move with the bodies in the space, while blue light, sound, and scent evoke the atmosphere of the sea. A washing machine stands at the center as both everyday object and symbol of cyclical movement. Visitors are invited to respond to the question “When are you completely in the present moment?”, allowing their reflections to temporarily merge with the installation. The work only becomes complete through participation, emphasizing presence as relational, sensory, and constantly in motion.
